Criss Cross Friendship Bracelet Pattern

I thought I had used a pattern to make this one, but I remembered I had started off with too few working threads for the pattern I had picked out, so I kind of made things up as I went along...

As you can see it consists of two patterns that have been mixed up, although you are of course free to use one or the other for an entire bracelet. I hope the patterns speak for themselves this time :)

The top blue dot in the large pattern is part of the first pattern, I just put it there so it's easier (hopefully!) to see the transition between both patterns. The same applies for the last pink knots on the large pattern. If you weren't confused before, I bet you are now... :) Have fun!

  1. How do you create that braided loop at the end of the bracelet. It is so much more elegant than just a simple loop! Is it braided, because I can't tell? In any case, I'd love to learn how to create that. Thank you!

    1. Hi,
Thank you for your comment :)
It's kind of hard to explain, since I can't remember what that stitch is called. It is quite easy to do though. I'll try to find some clear pictures online and leave another reply for you.
Sorry I can't help you with an immediate answer, but "watch this space" lol
      Kindest regards,
      C.J.

    2. What I've been able to find is that it's called the "Up-Down Cast-on Stitch". You can see how it's done Here
I just made the stitch with one pair of the working threads around the others, as you normally would around the needle. Once I had enough stitches I'd make the loop by folding the threads (bringing the first and last stitch together) and start working the pattern.
I hope this makes some sense, I'm not sure I understand it myself lol
Please let me know if you have any questions/problems and I'll be happy to try and make a small tutorial :)
      Good luck!
      C.J.
